About Sandra Douglas

The beauty of butterflies and bubbles are a current and constant theme of Sandra Douglas's work and an essential component of her inspiration. Born in Canada, Sandra now resides full time in West Palm Beach, Florida where her studio is also located. Her works in oil are balanced with realism and spontaneity in contemporary art. Sandra's audience feels a sense of serenity and lightness drawing them into the painting.

Her works live in the quiet space between what we can hold and what we can only feel. A bubble floats for a moment-perfect, reflective, whole and then it’s gone. On canvas it lives forever. A butterfly lands lightly never staying long, always in motion. Together they represent something deeply human: the fleeting nature of joy, change and being alive.

Sandra continuously explores different ideas and emotions for the inspiration of her works. Douglas explains, "The inspiration comes from within, I paint with gratitude every day!"
